The karat number tells you how much pure gold is in the alloy. The price difference between 24K and 22K is based on the purity ratio applied to the spot rate.
Purity math
22K = 22 ÷ 24 = 91.67% pure gold. If 24K is PKR 30,000/gram, 22K metal value is roughly PKR 27,500/gram before making charges.

- Long-term investment holdings
- When purity certification is important
